Registered Massage Therapist
A couple years after graduating from high school, struggling to figure out what I wanted to do career wise, I finally decided on a path of becoming an RMT. I did three years at Algonquin College in the Massage Therapy program where I studied in depth information regarding functions and dysfunctions of the body and the anatomy of the body.
I am happy to say that I have found a career that I enjoy doing everyday and its something that has taught me so much and is to this day still teaching me more on how to better my clients and myself. I have spent three years working in a clinical setting treating those with chronic pain, motor vehicle impairments, concussion injuries, etc. During those years I have often found myself wondering what more I could do to help my clients than I already have been. I kept looking for more information and with the help of a friend I finally came across Visceral and Neural Manipulation. These new techniques have been eye opening for me.
I have learned how the body is vastly connected and how treating one area of the body can affect numerous other areas as a result and by using minimal pressure. VM and NM are used with light touch to treat the musculoskeletal system by initially treating the internal organs, such as the liver, kidneys, stomach, GI track, uterus, etc. and skeletal structures of the cranium and spine. As an RMT my goal is to continue to educate myself so I can better educate my clients and be able to help them as much as I possibly can.
