Janessa completed her Bachelor of Kinesiology at Acadia University, specializing in Sports Injury Assessment and Management, and is a recent graduate of the Masters of Physiotherapy program at Queen’s University. Janessa’s love for getting athletes back to their game led her to be the senior student therapist for Acadia’s national finalist women’s varsity soccer team, providing her with extensive experience in both prehab and rehab on the national athletic level. Janessa values living an active lifestyle, and has broad athletic experience in hockey, track, pole vault, and equitation.
Janessa believes in a holistic approach to physiotherapy, addressing each person as a whole, and not just the parts. She strongly believes that everyone is capable of improving their function and quality of life, no matter the injury or diagnosis. Janessa truly appreciates forming relationships and connections with her patients, and will work tirelessly to help her patients overcome obstacles, and work as a team to set them up for lifelong success.
Janessa has advanced her skills through course training in Neurokinetic Therapy (NKT) and Selective Functional Movement Assessment (SFMA), allowing her to narrow down root causes of dysfunction. Janessa also has valuable experience working in women’s health at all life stages.
